Moisture (Water) in Oil Standards

Karl Fischer Titration Certified Reference Standards
These standards are intended for the determination of water (moisture) in petroleum products, using ASTM D6304.  All values are certified by Karl Fischer Titration. This test determines the amount of water present in the oil, with a high degree of accuracy, and is the most commonly-used test for this type of determination.

Crackle Test Reference Standards
These standards are intended for use in the determination of water in oil.  All values are nominal, and are certified by gravimetric preparation. The crackle test is a visual test performed by placing a small drop of oil onto a hot plate (usually around 300ºF).  The amount of water present in oil samples is estimated by comparison to these standards.
